I was raised in Huntington, Indiana, attending Huntington First Church of the Nazarene. I attended Olivet Nazarene University and graduated with a degree in French/Spanish secondary education (B.A. Romance Languages). I have always been a teacher and teaching gives me such joy!
However, God continued to move my heart toward mission and ministry. After 8 months in Russia helping with the homeschooling of a missionary family, God opened the doors for me to attend Nazarene Theological Seminary. I graduated in 2006 with a Master of Divinity degree and was ordained in 2010. I began work at the Global Ministry Center in Lenexa, Kansas in January 2007. It has been a wonderful experience to work with the people of the Global Ministry Center. It is indeed another step in my preparation for the next step God has opened - which is serving in Costa Rica. There are many other life details - many, many travels and exciting experiences. I hope to get more opportunity to share some of those with you soon!
I will be working on the campus of the seminary (Seminario Nazareno de las Americas or SENDAS) in San Jose, Costa Rica. I will be teaching English through the language program (CALL) held on the campus, and I will be working with the president of the seminary, Dr. Ruben Fernandez, helping with some of his administrative responsibilities. In addition, I will help with any events on campus and will help host work and witness teams. I also hope to help with website resources in English/Spanish/French and to teach seminary courses either on campus or through the Virtual Nazarene Seminary program.
