Serving in Central Europe | Eurasia

Ashley has served in Croatia since June 2013.

When Ashley was 17 years old while sitting at a districts camp meeting when she had a "lighting moment" where I was called into ministry instantaneously. Ashley's calling was a struggle even though she had all the support in the world, she felt like Jonah wanting to run away and like Moses telling God he should use someone else. Eventually, she figured out that being in God's will is the only places she wanted to be.

Ashley went on to graduate from Trevecca Nazarene University in May of 2013 with a BA in Religion and a minor in missions. Right after graduating, Ashley moved to Croatia with Mission Corps. She was a volunteer missionary for two years before becoming a specialized Church of the Nazarene missionary serving full-time in Croatia.

The Church of the Nazarene is new in Croatia and is not established in a lot of our surrounding countries yet. Ashley is on a Church planting team, because of the nature of pioneer missions, she is a part of many different types of ministry. When she first moved to Croatia as a volunteer, Dave and Betsy Scott the full-time missionary there had just started a Charity shop. Ashley spent a lot of hours working in the shop and building relationships. As first Church of the Nazarene in Croatia started to form, she did a little bit of everything as many church leaders do. From leading Bible studies to be the janitor.

For a few years, she was the outreach coordinator for the country of Croatia. This allowed her to help people identify with the missional identity of the Church of the Nazarene. She helped connect the new church community to missions through helping maintain the community center in Zagreb and finding partnerships and bridge building opportunities in Croatia. During that time Ashley realized that God had put the Roma people on her heart.

December 2016 Ashley moved 1.5 hours away from the Zagreb to a town called Koprivnica. There she is laying some foundations for a secondary work of the Church of the Nazarene in Croatia. She has built relationships through English programs, kids clubs, prayer groups, bible study, ladies art time, and visitations.

Ashley loves working alongside the Croatian people as they discover what the Church of the Nazarene looks like in Croatia!

Please continue to pray for Ashley's work in Central Europe.

Going Where the Church is Not Yet

Today there are over 4.3 billion people who live in areas where there is little to no gospel witness. 4.3 billion people who have not heard the message of the gospel, who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe that everyone deserves to hear. God continues to call the Church of the Nazarene to spread the message of the gospel, to preach holiness, and to bring good news to the poor all over the world. The task is enormous; far too big for anyone to do alone, but together we can go where the church is not yet and see people, communities, and nations transformed. Reaching these people begins with one step, a step of obedience and faithfulness that says yes to God’s call. Take your first step and start your journey toward serving in missions today.
