Serving in Africa South East | Africa
In 2014 I began serving as an assistant to the Field Strategy Coordinator, Rev. Paul Mtambo. He is the coordinator for the Africa Southeast Field. This field includes the countries of Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi. I live in the large city of Lusaka in the country of Zambia.
As a teen I felt a call to Africa. For the next 40 years I watched Africa through books, news and documentaries, always wondering how or even IF I would ever serve the Lord here. Had God really placed a burden in my heart for this great continent? Had I missed his timing and now I was too old and too late? In September 2014, at 60 years old, I arrived in Zambia with three suitcases. It had been with fear and trembling a year earlier I began the journey of making myself ready to sell all and move, proving once again "you are never too old to follow God's call on your life."
The people of the Africa Southeast Field are amazing, loving and so supportive of me and my American ways. As we work together equipping the District Superintendents, Pastors and leaders of the Nazarene Churches I love their desire to save the lost. Working with this ministry has changed my life.
Please consider supporting this ministry. I have people who are my prayer partners and we pray for one another on the same day. If you would like to join this group, please send me an e-mail and I will add you to the group, grace_shelby@ hotmail.com.

Going Where the Church is Not Yet
Today there are over 4.3 billion people who live in areas where there is little to no gospel witness. 4.3 billion people who have not heard the message of the gospel, who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe that everyone deserves to hear. God continues to call the Church of the Nazarene to spread the message of the gospel, to preach holiness, and to bring good news to the poor all over the world. The task is enormous; far too big for anyone to do alone, but together we can go where the church is not yet and see people, communities, and nations transformed. Reaching these people begins with one step, a step of obedience and faithfulness that says yes to God’s call. Take your first step and start your journey toward serving in missions today.
